Pool Cleaning Business: Should I Start My Own Or Buy An Existing Route?

Which would be better? I know starting my own is cheaper, but seems harder since you have to get clients. But are existing routes a scam? I found an existing route in my town on www.poolroutepros.com
Anyone every heard of that site?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Been there, done that!
I actually started in the pool cleaning business 5 or 6 years ago by buying a route. And while it is a legitimate way to get started in the business, I would have to highly reccomend against buying a route from anyone unless you have actually worked that route for about a year or so. It’s not the route broker at fault here, it’s the route itself and possibly the seller of it.
In my opinion, you would be way better off by developing your own advertising and building your route fresh.
